Jing #2 A Short Excel Lesson

I am sorry this is late but it has taken me a while to figure this out.  I decided to record a short video on how to calculate a payment with excel.  This is just a short video but I think it will be helpful to anyone that has thought amount borrowing money and is saying the age old question "How much will the payment for a new car be?"

I think this finally worked for me.  I am sure this is not the information we needed to include but I wanted to make sure it looked at least close to what the assignment ask for.

http://screencast.com/t/NzBmMjliN Here is link to my Jing Image.  I wanted to teach students a lesson on how to create their own Balance Sheet.  It is amazing how many people do not know what a financial statement consist of.  When they go to the bank for a loan they are at the mercy of the loan officer to make sure there information is recoreded correctly.  With Jing a teacher is able to give students a visual on various assignments. 

Self Assessment Post

I am sorry I forgot to post anything regarding the self assessment.  I am finding this course extremely interesting but definitely making me feel overwhelmed also.  This self assessment made me double check any thing that was not fully complete and also realize the instructors expections.

Glog would be great to bring students together with ideas when working on a group project.

Learning Styles Inventory

The results of my learning style showed that hands on or kinesthetics is my preferred way of learning.  This is true because I can learn other ways but the best way for me to retain what I have learned is by actually doing a task.  I also retain well by listing or hearing what people say.  My husband would say I do not shut my mouth long enough to listen to someone else but I am a very good multi tasker which drives him crazy.  This is something I learned while homeschooling my own children and it was a great asset to me when teaching them in the learning style that was best for them.  We all have one still that is the strongest but we definitely need to be able to learn in all methods.

Snipping Tool

The snipping tool would be a great asset when teaching form any computer program.  I can think of Microsoft Excel as a wonder source to use this tool in order to create short cuts to menu iems.

Voice Thread

I am a day late on this assignment.  I am sorry to everyone we have several graduations to attend this weekend and life is always crazy for me!!

I cannot believe how much we are learning in this class.  This voice thread is a great resource for anyone and especially educators.  You can get a small amount of information to so many people and get responses at your fingertips.

I created a link to a voicethread which is picture of my three children.  I have put alot of money into braces and these smiles are great.

This will be a great future asset for me.

Internet Connection Speed

I am not sure if 5.85 Mbps is fast but as you can tell from by pictures we are a long way out of town.  I tryed DSL service from FrontierNet but it was to far from a service line.  We installed a satilite internet service (Hughes Net) last winter which as been great!

Personality Type

It came as no surprise to me that I was in the artisan category.  I am not sure I totally fit this category but it is more of me than any of the others.  I am very optomistic about life and really enjoy have fun with my kids and their friends.  They get mad because their friends want me to come along for school trips and sometimes they want me to stay home.  I try to be very open with my kids and their friends and keep in mind that I was once a teenager, which is something alot of parents forget at least several I know.  My willingness to share is always present and unfortunately I feel sometimes like people take advantage of me but I always look at the benefit of helping someone.  This was a great test!

Browser Wars DiAnna Liller

There are so many different web browsers on the market today that it can make your head spin.  A web frowser is just a service website used to search the internet.  It is all about security and speed.  As people learn various web browsers they begin to learn which ones are fast and secure and they continue to use them.  The most popular are below:

1. Internet Explorer 8
2. Mozilla Firefox
3. Apple's Safair
4. Google Chrome

Browser wars mean each site listed above is trying to improve their features to attact more users and in order to do this they have to keep coming up with new ideas and features.  The competition is driven by money and finding the faster search engine.  This has caused some web browsers to be unsecure and get through code loopholes.  The number 1 browser is all amount money and useage.

Introduction

Hello!! I am DiAnna Liller from Old Fields WV a small area between Moorefield and Romney WV.

I currently operate my own accounting and insurance business from my home and substitute teach. I have been in business for 15 years. I have three wonderful children and a great husband of 20 years.

I am working on my MAT in Business Education and hope to be a full time teacher one day.

I am looking forward to this class!
